We strongly believe in our mission: Putting Students First!  To that end, the Ankeny Board of Directors, representing more than 42,000 citizens, has established priorities that guide our efforts and work.  The outstanding leadership of our Board ensures high expectations in everything we do, structure in everything we plan, excellent financial stewardship and a significant emphasis on student academic achievement.

The district is now the 9th largest public school system in Iowa. Annual enrollment increases continue to average approximately 250 students and we now employ over 1,100 certified and classified staff members. The high expectations of our Board, staff, parents, citizens and our students themselves result in numerous academic awards, athletic achievements and activities accolades for our graduating students.  Our eight elementary schools, two middle schools and comprehensive high school routinely demonstrate the very best in a quality education. With over 98% of seniors graduating on time, an average ACT score of 23.4 and thousands of earned college credit hours, Ankeny Community Schools sets itself apart as one of the premier K-12 public schools in Iowa.
